Job Summary:

The Agricultural Technician is responsible for performing both basic and complex diagnostics on agricultural and construction equipment, and for the repair and maintenance of both customer-owned and dealer-owned equipment. He / she is responsible for good customer interaction as appropriate, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, constantly improving technical skills for changing products and performing work at customer locations as required.

Service Diagnostics: performs basic / complex diagnostics on agricultural / construction / diesel equipment, decides which repairs are required and/or recommended for future care / maintenance. This may be for either the customer-owned equipment located in the shop or on the customer's premises, or the dealer-owned equipment (inspections).
Service Repairs: performs repairs on the above mentioned equipment (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, diesel) as requested by the manager. Responsible for the performance of quality work and the achievement of stated objectives for efficiency.
Service Training / Development: Participates in all the work-related training and development requests, as well as taking an active interest in improving skills with other training programmes.
Service Paperwork: completes all service activities documents and forms in a timely and accurate manner. This would include inspection reports, comments on the warranty, work orders, etc. Uses CNH Assist as applicable. Using computers / tablets to enter data as needed. Ensure the director is aware of any issues / surprises that may have an effect on consumer billing or satisfaction. Ensures efficient timekeeping for the price of employment.
Equipment and services: ensures the good condition and cleanliness of the company's vehicle stock, tools and equipment.
Safety: follows all company and common sense security policies while using all necessary personal safety equipment. Ensures a safe working environment in the bay; reports any problems in the bay or other areas of operation to the supervisor for follow-up.
Teamwork: works collaboratively with other engineers, parts and sales staff. Mentors Support Technician Apprentices and junior technicians as well. Works every hour (day or weekend) as required.
Ensures good communication within and with other locations / employees. Appropriately communicates with customers and forwards any operational issues to the manager.

Qualifications:

Technical degree in Agricultural, Diesel or Construction Mechanics, or High School Diploma or GED with 4 years experience in service operations.
Proven knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used to repair Ag / Construction / Outdoor power equipment Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
Owns mechanical tool collection suitable for the work required.
Good expertise in running vehicles and equipment used in repair shops (diagnostic devices, forklifts, hydraulic lifts, etc.)
Good interaction and customer relationship skills
Computer systems experience, including MS office and internet-based software
Ability to work extended hours during the week and on weekends
Ability to travel to executive meetings and training events as needed Ability to lift 75 pounds as necessary without assistance
Holds driver license & ability to operate motor vehicle
