Job Summary:

Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate courses in agricultural education; student supervision; graduate courses in the Department of Community and Leadership Development; and graduate advice and recruitment of agricultural education students in a multidisciplinary graduate program. Applicant will teach practical courses related to pedagogical and andragogical theory. This is a 12-month, tenure-eligible position within the Department of Community and Leadership Development (CLD). The Effort distribution for this position will be 55 percent instruction, 40 percent research and 5 percent service.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the field of agricultural education or related discipline by the start date. The applicant should have at least three years of secondary school teaching experience.
Demonstrated proof of proven publication record; evidence of funded research efforts; engagement in diversity and inclusion; teaching experience in higher education; effective written communication; a persuasive (successful and complementary to departmental needs) research agenda; participation in professional organizations with a focus on leadership roles; professional experience in the field.
Responsibility for study is in the field of teaching and learning scholarships. Expectations include the creation of a nationally recognized research program connecting agricultural education to universities, communities and societies. Successful candidates are required to develop peer-reviewed publication records for teaching and research scholarships; receive competitive grants; hire and advise graduate students; conduct committee assignments to support the mission of departments, colleges and universities; and provide leadership to professional societies.
Potential applicants should have an interest in cooperation and instruction that facilitates ties between agricultural education and other subjects within the College of Agriculture, Food and the Environment. Such fields may include but are not limited to: Technical Systems Management; Equine Science and Management; Public Health & Farm Safety; Community Development; Sustainable Agriculture; and Extension Education.
