Job Summary:
Aircraft Mechanic shall be in a position to perform repairs of engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty required for the tasks assigned.

Aircraft Mechanic shall be in a position to perform repairs of engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty required for the tasks assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Fixes malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-ironing, pneumatic, engines, auxiliary power units, and ventilation and heating systems.
- Repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components, including rigging, surface controls and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns and drills.
- Read and interpret ARMY maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications for the feasibility and method of repair or replacement of malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Work involves the replacement or repair of worn or damaged components such as carburetors, alternators, magnets, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves by means of hand tools, gauges and test equipment; the removal of engines from aircraft using equipment for handling, disassembling and inspecting wear, cracking, safety or other defects.
- Adjusts, restores and removes electrical wiring and aircraft parts.
- Conducts pre-flight, thru-flight and post-flight maintenance inspections.
- Carry out various tasks for aircraft service, including flushing crankcases, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts and checking brakes.
- Provides a summary of the work performed in the maintenance records and verifies that the work has been carried out in a satisfactory manner.
- Services engines and air-frame components at line station repair, short-term overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, specializing in work, repair and modification of structural, precision and functional spare parts and assemblies.
- Travel is necessary when assigned to teams supporting operations outside the region. This may include locations in the western region.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school or comparable degree.
- Experience in roles such as repair and maintenance of ARMY aircraft and associated mounted equipment.
- Completion of a suffix appropriate basic or craft aircraft maintenance course is compulsory.
- Specialization in sheet metal, electrical work, avionics or other ARMY aircraft systems related disciplines may be needed.
