Job Summary:
Develops, designs, assembles, assembles, integrates and mechanically tests, checks or troubleshoots, and repairs the manufacturing and prototyping of aircraft structures, components and assemblies, mechanical and pneumatic. Employment in this area involves the implementation of protocols, processes and methods learned through practical and on - the-job training.
Responsibilities:
Develops, designs, assembles, assembles, integrates and mechanically tests, checks or troubleshoots, and repairs the manufacturing and prototyping of aircraft structures, components and assemblies, mechanical and pneumatic. Employment in this area involves the implementation of protocols, processes and methods learned through practical and on - the-job training.
Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets mechanical / structural details, blueprints, scheduling, system specifications, diagrams, design drawings and sketches, and other instructions for determining the methods and sequence of operations for the configuration, assembly and installation of precision components and assemblies.
- Develop organized hole designs, cutouts, trim lines, mating points, assembly and installation locations using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
- Assembles and associates parts and components of aircraft.
- Attaches structural parts and components using riveting and hand and power tools, hand trim and finishing.
- Drills, paths, reams, countersinks, spots and counter bores.
- Modifies or rebuilds parts to the mold line or changes to the configuration.
- Changes the aircraft design, installation and mechanical systems as guided and in compliance with the engineering requirements.
- Manufactures, assembles, mounts, supports, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical components, sub-assemblies, working systems, electro-mechanical and hydro-mechanical assemblies, parts and assemblies.
- Functionally tests, detects, locates or fixes any aircraft assembly, pneumatic, piping, electrical, mechanical and rigging systems and structures and installations during assembly operations.
- Use hand and power tools, layout tools, hoists and mechanical lifting equipment, test fixtures, functional testing equipment and precision measuring instruments.
- Manually or with the aid of a software or computer-based system, tracks production, packaging, operational testing information and statistical data.
Qualifications:
- FAA A&P Certified High school diploma or equivalent.
- Occasional travel to conduct service away from the base.
- Two (2) years of experience in structural maintenance of aircraft.
- Aircraft class transport (Preferred).
- You have to be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- They have to provide their own tools.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
