Job Summary:

Consult with Communications & Community Relations Director to develop and implement a Community Health Program outreach program. The Ambulance driver will provide patient transport services, transport non-emergency patients to and from the hospital and clinic to ensure the patient's well-being in transit and ensure that safety and best practice is practiced at all times.

Responsibilities:

Participate as a marketing team member in the development and implementation of departmental and organizational support plans
Contribute to the achievement of member growth objectives
Maintain a thorough knowledge of health care programs and related regulatory communication requirements Identify and develop relationships with new community partners and organizations to fulfill outreach commitments.
Develop and implement a promotional plan for new outreach opportunities Identify and coordinate outreach activities and necessary materials at community and health events
Attend community and health events to distribute information on the Health Plan Support manager with the planning and delivery of health education presentations
Organize the Health Plan staff and other resources to participate and provide guidance.
Safe and efficient service of ambulances and other client services.
Carriage of sick and injured people.
Total compliance with all relevant provincial, local and federal regulations and laws related to the operation of motor vehicles and patient rights.
Patients in and out of ambulances, hospitals, homes and other places must be able to lift, move and navigate safely.
Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to clients, family members, medical staff and the general public.

Qualifications:

Education: the mandatory high school diploma.
Experience: Minimum of three years of active experience as an EMT driver. Recent experience driving emergency vehicles needed for emergency traffic.
Licensing / certificate / registration: current NC EMT certification required. Certification of BLS required. Completion of emergency Vehicle Operations Class required.
Specific skills required: operational experience of emergency vehicles similar to the Health Critical Care Transport Ambulance.
Operational experience and skills in radio communications. Ability to view, read and interpret maps.
Must have shown a high degree of consistency, reliability and integrity in previous work results.
Must be at least 23 years old. Motor Vehicle Driving Record must meet the requirements set out in corporate insurance.
Knowledge in repair of vehicles
Ability to communicate with clinicians and to complete relevant documentation.
