Job Summary:
The Legal Assistant will act as the main administrative assistant for a lawyer specializing in immigration law. In addition, the assistant will assist in the duties of the general office where necessary.

The Legal Assistant will act as the main administrative assistant for a lawyer specializing in immigration law. In addition, the assistant will assist in the duties of the general office where necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with clients by phone and on a regular basis
- Manage, coordinate and manage case files in paper or digital form
- Include general administrative assistance, such as managing a lawyer's schedule and making travel plans
- Ideal candidate has expertise in general litigation and any background in labor and employment cases would be preferred.
- Administrative work to deal with all aspects of office support and attorney support
- High school and General Education (GED) degrees needed
- Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience in the setting up of a law firm.
- Prior experience working in immigration law
- Great verbal and written communication skills and professional behavior
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Tab3 and Practice Manager experience
- Effective ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Well-organized, multi-tasking, quick learning, and detail-oriented
- Able to take initiative and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Flexible and capable of acting independently and as a team member
- Willing to work flexible hours when necessary
- Able to communicate professionally
- Good attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills
- Outstanding social and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in an administrative position plus
- Bi-or multi-lingual plus.
- Drafting of correspondence
- Editing and filing of pleadings with state and federal courts, the scheduling of depositions, file maintenance, travel arrangements, research, expense reports, time entry and maintenance of attorney's calendars.
- High-quality computer skills, excellent organizational skills
- Outstanding performance and a' will' attitude.
- Assistants can also help with publicity, accounting, paralegal work, office management and financial record keeping.

- Position is full time, M-F with the possibility of some extra time.
- This is a full-time, non-exempt job.
- Hourly wage is $20.50–$22.00 an hour.
