Job Summary:
The Air Traffic Control Specialist must master all resources relevant to the duties and responsibilities of Aircraft landing & Develop the skills needed to operate all the equipment needed to provide pilot services. Be trained and experienced in both Tower and Radar. Ensure that the Runway / Helicopter distinction is preserved. Enforce the alignment and ordering of all traffic in / out or through allocated airspace. Air Traffic Controllers must be able to understand complex situations, such as the effect of changing weather conditions on the flight path of the aircraft. Controllers need to be able to prioritize tasks, as they may be required to guide multiple pilots at the same time and provide assistance in emergency.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the tactical, strategic and administrative support of various program areas such as training, quality control, quality assurance, traffic management, airspace and procedures, plans and programs, operational automation, military operations, special and security activities, safety management system, safety monitoring and other areas of expertise defined collaboratively at the local level.
- The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC sector and a knowledge of the many essential components of the industry that form the National Airspace Program.
- Air Traffic Specialists must be able to apply this expertise to the study, assessment and development of new methods; Research, methods and procedures.
- The Air Traffic Controller must be informed about the Agency's diverse activities, goals and priorities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and tailor their message to the target audience.
- Hardware / software experience is ideal, although not necessary.
- Some travel will be required.
- Performs on a daily basis the maintenance and/or enhancement of operating material and/or services within the designated area(s) of the specialty.
- Communicates intra / inter-facilities as well as between different lines of business and industry.
- Make recommendations for new projects / studies, taking into account the resources available and the objectives and objectives of the facility.
- Applies expertise to the completion of projects / studies and facility reports.
- Analyzes and tests the quality of equipment, facilities and procedures. Conducts reviews, reports and advises employees of the hospital.
- Develops methods for improving customer service and the quality of support provided.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Control Tower Operator (CTO) Certificate from the FAA or accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience / combined education.
- At least 2 years of professional experience.
- Will pass the FAA DOT pre-employment screening successfully.
- Preferred radar experience.
