It performs a variety of tasks, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations. Analyze processes and improve processes. It performs a variety of tasks, ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations. Analyze processes and improve processes. May be responsible for the delivery of tasks and goals, organize and direct technical support teams. Help with new operators and help in the study of systems.
Responsibilities:
- Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs and saws
- Continuity checks on work in process and completed
- May conduct quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with the quality specifications
- May disassemble, modify, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with the specifications and under simulated conditions
- Follow authorized assembly procedures for parts or aircraft structures, reviewing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) technical information, and work package instructions
- Positioning and aligning sub-assemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following schematic lines and index points.
- Inspects completed work to locate any necessary rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet the defined requirements and tolerances
- Performs serviceability tests as needed, using the test equipment stated in the Technical Manuals
- Complete work package documentation as required
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma / GED required A&P and mechanical / electrical experience required
- Structures required A minimum of three (3) years of experience in assembly, mechanical, electrical or aircraft structures as well as the ability to use all technical data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and perform repairs
- Proficiency in riveting, installation of related hardware, use of precision equipment and use of hand tools to perform these activities.
- Read work orders, blueprints and instructions and inspect prototypes or damaged parts or structures to evaluate repair or production procedures and schedule of operations.
- Repair body or aircraft structure as defined
- Knowledge of machines and devices, including their models, uses, repairs and maintenance
- Appropriate use of air-powered hand tools and related equipment.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other strategies for optimizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods
- Flexible working hours, if necessary
