Job Summary:
Provide the expertise and knowledge that sustain the curriculum of colleges and programs. Establish courses in compliance with agreed higher education requirements, teach students using a range of successful methodologies, and participate and promote programs that facilitate student learning. The position of the Instructional Faculty includes teaching and training, educational guidance, professional development and organizational and community service.
The incumbent shall teach the maximum load of equalized hours as stated in the Faculty Guidelines for each semester in thearea(s) of competence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate ability and/or experience in the discipline of teaching.
- Continue efforts to improve the quality of instruction by evaluating and using novel methodologies, approaches and delivery methods.
- Create and use a syllabus for each course within the context of the school, curriculum and departmental guidelines, and send a copy to the chair of the department.
- Design, create and use a range of teaching methods and materials that help students achieve the goals of the course and that are suitable for students with different academic and experiential experiences and learning styles.
- Evaluate students in order to measure their progress towards the stated objectives of the course and notify them of their progress in the course in a timely manner.
- Keep student records correct and submit relevant documents and forms within the deadlines requested.
- Review, evaluate and recommend textbooks and learning materials for students.
- Teaching courses at a range of times and locations in response to organizational needs.
- Use equipment and installations responsibly and courteously. Assist the chair, where necessary, in the routine maintenance of the instructional laboratories.
- Demonstrate professionalism and curiosity in the use of innovation in classrooms and the willingness to explore new teaching methodologies.
- Minimum one (1) year of college-level teaching experience expected.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of related work experience are required.
- Must have completed at least 18 years old.
- Graduate hours in anthropology or hold a master's degree (the official transcript(s) must accompany the application).

- Willing and able to teach day or night classes at a variety of locations around the city.
- Maintain a professional relationship with teachers, colleagues and the public.
- Provide students with access by post office hours, electronic communication and other relevant methods. Provide advice and assistance to students on academic and program-specific problems.
- Provide presentations on a specific academic area or program-its subject matter, goals, opportunities for further research (transfer opportunities) and work opportunities (co-ops, part-time, work-study) and jobs, special clubs and activities available, support services, scholarships, etc.
- Create and maintain a website dedicated to the types of information listed in bullet 3.
- Consult with the Chair to perform acceptable educational advising activities as required by the
- College and the Department. (For examples, please refer to the guidelines on the workload of the HCC Faculty).
- Establish annual targets for professional growth in consultation with the director of the organization.
- Keep up with innovations in the discipline.
- Learn and apply technology to improve student learning.
- Participate in the self, department, and college evaluation process.
