Responsibilities:
- Includes the following tasks; other tasks may be assigned.
- Prepare Revit / AutoCAD documents for office standards within the budget and timeframe.
- Assist in the development of projects using computer-aided design, Revit / AutoCAD, SketchUp and other software based on preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data for the production of designs, work drawings, schedules, details and notes.
- Study and use generic descriptions where appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and work with Project Architects, Project Managers, Drafters and consultants in the office environment on a daily basis.
- Manage time and schedule with Project Managers and Project Architects.
- Communicate with PM / PA if the requirements for man-hours and timeframes are different.
- Adapted to change priorities quickly and thoroughly as circumstances arise
- Work as part of a coherent team to develop projects in a cooperative, successful, on-time and on-budget manner.
- Carefully cross-check the drawings before any review or submission to minimize QA changes. Maximum 5% rework.
- Knowledge of building systems and how to assemble a set of building documents.
- General knowledge on basic building codes.
- Review all drawings of contractors for accuracy prior to sale to other companies and/or submission to licensing or approval authorities.
- Assist with field dimensions, site observations and construction management.
- Assist with the processing of RFIs and submittals with the guidance of the project manager.
- Conduct a shop drawing review under close supervision within the budget and timeframe.
- Print, scan, plot, and paste drawings and other project documents.
- Participate in the programs of continuing education.
- Some travel to mostly local construction sites, client meetings and local authorities with jurisdiction.
Qualifications:
- The applicant must have a 5 year bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited university or a 2 year associate's degree in the related field. Applicants who are scheduled to graduate from either program in the spring of 2018 will also be considered.
- Candidate must have the qualifications of REVIT. AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop and practice make a plus.
- Applicants should demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management, presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Architectural knowledge and expertise in arranging construction documents is a plus.
- Applicants must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
- Candidates must demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
