Art Teacher

Job Summary:

He/She will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of his or her school. The instructor is expected to provide all students with high-quality art instruction. The classroom environment is positive and community-based. Teachers are also expected to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with students ' parents, colleagues and other community members.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates an appreciation of the art program by incorporating instructional methods appropriate to curricula and best practices 
  • Exhibits the skills required to successfully perform tasks as needed 
  • Adequate ability to monitor students ' actions and regulate student behavior Understands and executes oral and written directions 
  • Using tools, software, etc. effectively to improve the agitation of students. 
  • Helps foster student autonomy, social skills and self-esteem 
  • Effectively communicate with children to facilitate student awareness 
  • Supports the classroom management program and actions of K-8 students in a number of classroom environments 
  • Monitors student behavior and assists in determining behavior standards in compliance with the school-wide / school discipline policy. 
  • Efficiently tracks children outside the classroom (e.g. recess, lunchroom, etc.) and while the teacher is working 
  • Intervenes adequately to prevent students from disturbing the education process 
  • Interacts with students in a cooperative manner demonstrating mutual respect.
  • Communicates artistic performance expectations to students 
  • Expects behavior and academics in line with school-wide and classroom expectations 
  • Consistently follows up with instruction roles & obligations 
  • Conduct instruction activities 
  • Apply instruction techniques applicable to the curriculum area 
  • Strategies implemented demonstrate an understanding of LEARN's expectations and best practices.
  • Works with a minimum of supervision 
  • Promotes and maintains positive relationships with colleagues 
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills 
  • Using communication skills to build relationships with students, staff and parents 
  • Understands and provides oral and written instruction.
  • Communicate regularly with students to encourage student comprehension 
  • Use a range of problem-solving strategies 
  • Contributes positively to the achievement of school and classroom goals 
  • Participates in staff meetings 
  • Monitors students 
  • Cooperate with all staff members 
  • Consistently comment on their own instruction in order to monitor and change for the next period. 
  • Consistently enforces LEARN policies and expectations Observations of designated working hours 
  • Compliance with staff regulations 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of rules and regulations on discipline, procedures, curriculum, etc.
  • Actively participates in career development opportunities in a meaningful way 
  • Collaborates with colleagues and seeks resources to grow professionally 
  • Works collegiately and collaboratively with school staff 
  • Meets attendance standards and is consistently timely 
  • Performing other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's required Current participant in the Teacher Certification Program requested 
  • 2 + years of experience working with students in classroom environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, databases, intranet and Internet usage.
  • Good written and verbal skills Effective personality Ability to articulate oneself clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Practice in the development and implementation of procedures.
  • Capacity to organize and manage multiple tasks, keeping with strict deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organised.
  • Comfortable communication with internal and external customers 
  • Ability to defuse the situation and mobilize others to meet project requirements 
  • High degree of commitment and critical judgment.
  • Ability to deal with the public and staff in a personable and professional manner in a tactful and effective manner.
  • It maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
