Job Summary:

Mount, fix and remove safety glass and related materials, such as back-glass heating elements, on vehicles and equipment. Get windshields or windows for different automotive manufacturers or models out of stock and test for defects prior to installation. Platinum all the scratches on the primer pinch welds, and allow the primed scratches to clean. Clear all dust, foreign matter and loose glass from damaged areas; add primer along the edges of the windshield or window and allow it to clean.
Remove all moldings, clips, windshield wipers, screws, bolts, and inside A-pill moldings; then lower caps before starting installation or repair work.

Responsibilities:

Remove broken or damaged glass windshields and window glass from motor vehicles using hand tools to remove screws from glass holding frames.
Replace all moldings, clips, windshield wipers and any other pieces that have been removed prior to glass replacement or repair.
Replace or change the motorized or manual window-raising mechanism.
Choose suitable devices, safety equipment and parts according to the requirements of the job.
Cut flat safety glass according to specified designs, or perform precision pattern-making and glass-cutting on custom-fit replacement windows.
Give all glass parts mounted with urethane ample time to be healed, taking into account temperature and humidity.
Place the urethane bead around the edge of each pinch weld and put the remaining urethane on the pinch welds so that it is evenly smooth and dense all the way around.
Search for moisture or contaminants in damaged areas, clean out any moisture prior to repair, and keep the damaged areas dry until repairs are complete.
Cold and hot glass in case of extreme temperatures.
