Responsibilities:
- Automotive technicians provide cost and time estimates for additional auto repairs.
- Automotive technicians clarify mechanical diagnostics and necessary repairs to service consultants in a non-technical manner.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques during formal training sessions in order to stay up to date with rapidly changing technology.
- Road test vehicles as needed or refer to the test technician.
- Ensure that the vehicles of the customers are kept clean.
- Keep the shop area tidy, dry, and be able to account for all dealership equipment at all times.
- Understand and follow federal, state and local laws, such as those regulating the handling of hazardous waste.
- Should follow all company security policies and procedures and report any and all occurrences to the director or supervisor immediately.
- Performing general automotive maintenance and repairs such as oil changes, basic engine repairs, brake repairs, and also involves dismantling and restoring antique vehicles in preparation for restoration.
- Training for mid-level and senior automotive technicians to learn additional automotive products.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service, including the provision of clear communication and feedback on customer vehicles.
- Promoting teamwork to meet customer expectations.
- Maintaining strict adherence to company policy on the care and service of vehicles.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and a work ethic every day that tells you every day you need.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic) ASE certifications and/or supplier training required
- Keep a valid driver's license with less than 4 points Apply a Drug Screening and Background Check
- Team oriented, versatile and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
- Knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment.
- High Performance is an absolute must
- Must be able to operate safely in a noisy environment with many odors present.
- Ability to raise 50 pounds on a regular basis and sometimes bring up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to inspect the vehicle to assess the necessary repairs.
- Good vision for examining repair work.
- Capacity to detect noise problems reliably and effectively.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel or crawl in order to perform repairs and inspections.
