Job Summary:

Avionics Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of aircraft avionics and electronics equipment, including the removal and replacement of systems, parts and wiring.

Successful candidate will have expertise in the repair, evaluation, inspection and reliability of operating controls on different aircraft instruments and systems–both problem-solving and problem-solving skills are important.

This work is for Part 145 Repair Station in Fairbanks, Alaska. The technician does not need an Airframe and/or Powerplant License. The technician would have to be located or willing to move here. Immediate openings are available.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Passion for the aviation industry.
Diploma in high school or equivalent.
Must have at least 3-5 years of aviation maintenance experience, preferably corporate experience.
Must be able to work as part of a team in a challenging, fast paced environment.
It's got to be highly motivated and coordinated.
Must be a computer expert (MS Office, Aviation Maintenance Software).
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, kneel, squat, and stand for extended periods of time.
Be in a position to pass a pre-employment background check and a drug test.
Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
Must be able to provide proof of qualification to operate.

Responsibilities:

Running wiring and wiring in confined spaces, removing and replacing components and other related avionics equipment, performing maintenance and other tasks and checks as required in the Manuals of Manufacturers, maintaining a clean and safe working environment and maintaining positive control of shop tools and test equipment at all times, completing all paperwork in accordance with company and customer standards,
Operating with little or no oversight over extended periods of time, engaging with colleagues and clients in a professional and timely manner when necessary.

Qualifications:

Ideal applicant must have at least 1 year of experience in troubleshooting and repairing aircraft avionics systems High School Diploma, or equivalent, with the ability to read and write in English and strong written communication skills
Ability to read wiring diagrams and other schematics, including Maintenance and other Manuals.
Practice using simple test equipment and the ability to weld to regular
Lifts of up to 50 lbs and capable of operating in tight spaces that require bending, walking, kneeling, crouching and climbing.
Capable of operating at extreme temperatures for short duration's and noisy conditions, at times.
Shift and weekend work may be required, at times.
Capacity to pass a standardized pre-employment drug test if recruited.
