Job Summary:
Maintaining the safety of the Courts Facility and maintaining order and ensuring the welfare of prisoners as outlined in the County Detention Facility Policy and Procedures and serving as a bailiff in the 3rd District, 3rd District Juvenile and Courts. May have to oversee the work release system for County Inmates. Rescue prisoners within the confines of the facility; prepare inmates for transport; transport inmates to court and other destinations as assigned by administrative staff. The cleaning supervision of the facility. Maintains order in the room. Ensure proper care for sick inmates.

Responsibilities:
- Court security officers / bailiffs are responsible for all security aspects of the courthouse, including ensuring that judges and judicial staff, court staff and the general public visiting the courthouse are safe, responsible for the safety of those in the courthouse, including the removal of persons who are disruptive, the transport of judges and the screening of persons entering the courthouse for weapon.
- In trial, these officers can perform tasks such as handing over papers to the judge, expelling people from the courtroom, and helping witnesses to leave the courtroom. We must ensure that no guns are carried to the courtroom and that the public complies with the building safety laws. Other duties on employment
- Enforce the entry and identification system of the courthouse, which includes operating security screening equipment for weapons detection, contraband and prohibited items, checking items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc. Perform roving patrols: patrol courts and premises in accordance with the applicable post office.
- Perform stationary post assignments: stand guard at stationary posts which includes (but not limited to) monitoring of closed-circuit television, duress alarm systems and other security equipment, courtrooms, judge chambers and jury rooms.
- Perform escort duties: if instructed, provide armed escort services to judges, court officials, jurors and other designated individuals.
- Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: where appropriate, direct traffic and control lights on court property, as defined in post orders and/or standard operating procedures.
- Enforcement of law and order: it includes (but not limited to) the arrest of any person seeking unauthorized access to court proceedings or attempting to commit actions that jeopardize the safety and security of court staff, property and the public.
- Prepare reports and records: prepare various reports and records on contract performance issues, such as work hours, injuries, fire, bomb threats, unusual events or unlawful acts that have occurred within the court facility zone.
- Court attendance: responsibility for protecting unattended courtrooms, inspection of courtrooms prior to the hearings, testing of security equipment, and other duties related to the security of the court area.
- Preservation order: Responsibility for security presence in the courtroom, enforcement of the rules of the local court on prohibited items and protection of the court proceedings as the circumstances dictate.

Qualifications:
- Training and experience: equal to high school graduation.
- Must have a current P.O.S.T. State P.O.S.T. Category II (or higher) credential or be approved by an accredited P.O.S.T. Category II (or higher) law enforcement academy at the time of application.
- Must be able to meet the P.O.S.T. pre-agility fitness standards as described in N.A.C. 289.300 1. (b)(1) of the Regulation. Further experience in dealing with the public is desirable.
- Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Learning" and "Job Experience" parts of the application.
- Must be able to meet the P.O.S.T. pre-agility fitness standards as described in N.A.C. 289.300 1. (b)(1) of the Regulation. Qualification of arms is required for duty weapons.
- Employment depends on the outcome of the physical examination done by our inspector.
- Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment relies on the outcome of the pre-employment drug test.
